Advanced Search for Events

This area is at the right side of the screen, shown here in yellow.

An Advanced Search For Events allows you to search for events by keyword, location, category, subject or date. You can use as many or as few (but at least one) of these search criteria as you wish.

 

  1. If the Advanced Search tab is not the current tab, click on the Advanced Search tab title.

  1. If the Search Events tab is not the current tab, click on the Search Events tab.

  1. In the Keywords(s) section, type a brief phrase that describes what you want to find.
    For example, if you want to find a festival, type festival. This will cause all events with the word festival in their name or descriptions to be found. Click here to learn about keywords

  2. Click Any Word to search for records that contain any of the keywords you have entered.
    For example, if your keywords are world cup, organisations with the word world or cup in their name or descriptions to be found.

  1. Click All Words to search for records that contain all the keywords you have entered.

  2. For example, if your keywords are world cup, organisations with the words world and cup in their name or descriptions to be found.

  3. In Event Date you can specify a range of dates for your search. To search all dates leave this field blank.

  4. In Locations you can specify a location for your search. Click on a location to select it. To select more than one location, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on a location. If you do not want to specify a location, leave this field blank.

  1. In Category you can specify a category for your search. Click on a category to select it. To select more than one category, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on a category. If you do not want to specify a category, leave this field blank.

  2. In Subject you can specify a subject for your search. Click on a subject to select it. To select more than one subject, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on a subject. If you do not want to specify a subject, leave this field blank.

  3. In Order results by click Event Name to sort the results alphabetically, or click Event Date to sort the results chronologically.

  4. In Results per page click the number of records to include on each page of results.

  5. Click Search to start the search, or click Clear to specify a new search.

The results will appear in the What's On tab.
